40 Prado
The 40 Prado Homeless Services Center is a 365 days per year facility that helps individuals and families improve their health and stability and move them towards self-sufficiency. Services available to all participants include: -overnight shelter -meals -showers -laundry -mail/phone services -access to case management -primary medical care -animal kennels
Adult Day Center
The Adult Day Center has two primary goals: -To provide older adults an opportunity to get out of the house and receive both mental and social stimulation. -To give caregivers a much needed break in which to attend to personal needs, rest, or go to work. Services: Open Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM The Center is open Monday through Friday 8 - 5 pm. We recommend that clients attend at least two days a week for four hours. It is preferred that families provide the center with a schedule of when their loved ones will attend, but families may call before 8:30 am to add an additional day if needed. Flexible attendance One to five staffing ratio allows us to provide extra care for participants Trained and knowledgeable staff Socially stimulating and therapeutic activities We proudly serve Veterans. Arroyo Grande Family Resource Center
The South County Family Resource Centers are a community-based, school-linked, family-centered way of delivering and coordinating appropriate prevention and intervention services to youth and families in San Luis Obispo County. The SAFE services team provides support to all individuals including birth, adoptive, and resource families, kin-care providers, transitional aged youth, special needs youth and adults, and the zero to five population. The S.A.F.E. goal is to focus on family strengths and build upon those strengths by connecting the family with community resources to keep children and youth Safe, Healthy, At Home, In School, and Out of Trouble. Assistance with Child Care Payment (CCRC)
We offer financial assistance to qualified low income families needing help to pay for their child care. Families admitted to Alternative Payment Programs funded by the California Department of Education must meet need and income requirements. Need is defined as: -Employment that precludes the supervision of children. -Seeking employment, up to 60 working days per fiscal year, per parent, for 29 hours or less per week. -Vocational training leading to a recognized trade, paraprofessional or profession with a maximum of 6 years of service or 24 units beyond a Bachelors degree. -Homeless and seeking housing -Incapacitated as verified by a legally qualified professional. May receive a maximum of 50 hours per week. -CWS and/or Child At-Risk as verified by a legally qualified professional. -To be eligible the family’s gross monthly income can not exceed the 75% of the State Median Income. Families may be referred by the local Department of Social Services for CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) Child care in order to fulfill their Welfare to Work Plan. To pursue this avenue a family must apply at their local Department of Social Services.
Child Care Food Program (CCRC)
Licensed child care homes and registered Trustline providers receive partial reimbursement for healthy and nutritious meals served to children in child care. Participants are required to document meal service daily and receive regular site monitoring visits and training from CCRC Staff. Monthly claims for reimbursement can now be submitted online.
Child Care Provider Training and Business Start-Up (CCRC)
Family Child Care Provider Licensing We provide technical assistance to guide individuals through the process of becoming licensed family child care providers. Orientation assistance, classes, and pre-licensing visit preparation are all available upon request. The Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division is the agency that issues licenses for Child Care Centers and Family Child Care Homes as well as the agency charged with monitoring programs once they have been licensed (http://ccld.ca.gov/). Child Care Resource Connection
The CAPSLO Child Care Resource Connection (CCRC) supports families and child care providers in San Luis Obispo County through: -Child care assistance for eligible low income families -Free child care planning and referral services to connect parents to child care programs -Licensing assistance and continued education for child care providers -Promotion of quality child care through workshops on health and safety, health child development, child care business practices, and professionalism in child care -Child Care Food Program for family child care providers -Toy and Resource Lending LIbrary with educational resources, equipment, and toys available to community members There are three major divisions within CCRC: Resource and Referral, Alternative Payment Program, and the Child Care Food Program. All programs provide services in English and Spanish.
Early Head Start
Early Head Start is a free, federally funded program that promotes healthy development for low-income pregnant women and families with children under age three.
Family and Community Support Services (FCSS)
FCS provides comprehensive support to individuals and families to promote stability, self-sufficiency, and overall well-being. Services include case management, family support services, referrals to community resources, and assistance accessing housing, food, healthcare, and financial support programs.
Family Preservation
CAPSLO is a community response partner with the Department of Social Services (DSS)/Child Welfare Services, Foster Support Services, Probation Department, and Behavioral Health/Mental Health Youth Services. Countywide prevention services include in-home parent education and direct services. Services are focused on families at-risk of child abuse and neglect, and seek to keep children safe, healthy, and at home. Referrals are provided from CWS social workers or DSS-ERS. Behavioral Health/Mental Health Youth Services do not include direct services support, only parent education. Referrals primarily stem from S.A.F.E. Family Advocates or County Mental Health therapist. For more info call: 805-544-4355 ext 219. Head Start is a federally funded program that promotes school readiness for low-income children from birth to age 5 by providing comprehensive early learning, health, nutrition, and family support services.

Services are free to all children and families who meet the following criteria: -Live in SLO County -Child(ren) is birth - 5 years of age *We serve all families regardless of income or status* Services include: -Developmental Screenings -Referrals to 0 - 5 providers -Child Development Information / Education -Support scoring/understanding developmental screenings -Able to locate and identify providers in the county public or private -Maintain county-wide resource directory
Home Repair Services (Energy)
Minor home repair services are available at no cost to seniors age 60 or over throughout San Luis Obispo County and the Santa Maria Valley. The goal of this program is to help seniors be safe and comfortable in their homes for as long as possible. Home repair services may include safety items like grab bars, handrails, smoke alarms, CO detectors, handheld showerheads, high rise toilets/seats, and chair platforms. Some minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and drywall work may also be possible depending on the availability of funds.
Liberty Tattoo Removal
Offers no cost laser tattoo removal for individuals with tattoos that limit employment opportunities or negatively impact quality of life, in exchange for community service. Please note - Appointments may take 2 months to schedule.
Migrant/Seasonal Head Start
The Migrant and Seasonal Head Start (MSHS) program is a federally funded initiative providing no-cost, comprehensive child development and family support services.

POPS2
POPS2 is a group for Dads and their co-caregivers who would like to build a stronger relationship with their child(ren), learn new ways to communicate with their families and promote positive behavior changes in themselves and their child(ren). This evidence-based program empowers dads with new parenting skills to try out with their child(ren). POPS2 groups are looking to work with all types of fathers; we welcome single dads, co-parents, and expectant fathers. Join POPS2 and help create a valuable support system in your community! We provide groups countywide in English or Spanish. At the groups, we offer family-style meals, on-site childcare, hands-on activities led by therapists and one-on-one support to access community resources.
Recuperative Care
The RCP provides an opportunity for CenCal Health members who have little to no resources or are homeless and medically fragile, an opportunity to receive case management, nursing, medication management, and medical necessary transportation services in a shelter setting.

SLO-HUB
SLO-HUB is a Harm Reduction based program designed for those willing to participate in recovery, with wrap-around services to help improve their health, increase their opportunity for a stable place to live, add meaningful daily activities to their life and build a network that will provide support in the community. This program is a collaboration between CAPSLO and Restorative Partners.
State Childhood Development
State child development centers provide income-eligible families with comprehensive early education programs that support children's emotional, social, and nutritional needs.
Supportive Services for Veteran Families
The SSVF Program and program staff, in collaboration with our community partners, is committed to providing the necessary services to eligible Veterans and their families that will enable them to become and/or remain stably housed.
Teen Wellness
Supports teens through school?based and community programs that promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage healthy behaviors and connection.
Utility Assistance (Energy)
Energy Services operates the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) which provides lower income households with a once a calendar year payment toward their utility bills (gas, electric or propane). To be eligible for utility assistance, applicants must: -be a San Luis Obispo County resident. -be income eligible. -provide income documentation for all adult household members during the previous 6 weeks. -provide current gas/ propane and electric bills (bills must be whole with the 2nd page showing the service address).
Weatherization and Energy Efficiency (Energy)
Weatherization programs are designed to lower utility bills and increase comfort in the home. All work is provided at no cost to income eligible homeowners and renters through programs offered by the Southern California Gas Company and PG&E. Weatherization services may include: -Replacement of light fixtures and CFL's -Door weatherstripping -Water heater blankets -Water saving devices like aerators and showerheads -Carbon monoxide testing of gas appliances
